How is OCD Custom Cycles & Auto Repair Connected to the Movie The Tao of Steve?
The Tao of Steve is a 2000 romantic comedy film that was filmed in and around Santa Fe, New Mexico, where the story is set. The film won several awards.
The connection to our shop “story” starts in 2012 about 1 year after we opened for business and the owner of the CB750 in the Tao of Steve comes in with the celebrity motorcycle and wants it restored back to its full glory. So, little-by little the bike is transformed to what it was in 1977. This is when Honda’s VIN numbers were the name of the motorcycle model followed by 7 numbers. There was much work to be done including engine, carburetor, and paint and body. He enjoyed it and even had it completely gone over again in 2019. A real throw back to the simplicity of the motorcycle.
Part two of the story begins last week when one of the writers of The Tao of Steve calls in and wants us to pick up his Honda Magna and to have the bike repaired and restored. How did he find us? The owner of the restored CB750 said this was the obvious place. We will keep you all posted on the progress!
