AimExpo 2022 in Las Vegas
A paired down “Team OCD” consisting of Marc, Franny, and Greg went to Las Vegas, NV to attend the AimExpo 2022. This was the first industry show in two years and the enthusiasm was evident. We attended the education panels, met some of our current vendors: Heidenau Tires, Nelson Rigg, SW Motech, and some new vendors: Mitas Tires, UBCO, Plastex, Bellisimoto, and Klean Freak. One focus of the AimExpo this year was the electrification of powersport and other vehicles.
The first night in “Vegas” we were taken out to dinner by the Energica Motor Company executives Laurence Kuykendall, USA Marketing Director and Stefano Benatti, CEO. They took us to Carversteak, a new and trendy restaurant in the brand new Resorts World Las Vegas. Also attending were two other dealerships (AF1 Racing) that are carrying Energica Motorcycles. Energica is the manufacturer of the electric motorcycles we are carrying. We closed the place down at 12:30 am”Vegas” style!
Staying at the Sahara was nice because it was only 2 monorail stops to the Las Vegas Convention Center where AimeExpo 2022 was held. Team OCD was still at the Expo when it closed down on Friday at 2:00pm. Then, out for some fun in “Vegas”. Yes, we did ride the roller coaster at New York-New York Hotel and Casino. A bit more adrenaline produced than riding the track but of course we ARE adrenaline junkies!
We stopped at Paris Paris to have a drink and take in the beautiful fake sky. We briefly checked out the Luxor and its unique architecture. Exhausted, we ended with a walk through the gorgeous Bellagio Hotel and Casino and gawked at the seasonly updated themed gardens and glass ceiling called “Fiori di Como,” made up of blown glass flowers by artist Dale Chihuly. Marc and Frances lost 6 dollars in a slot machine at the Sahara but we had a great time doing it!
