Capital High Choice of Trade w/ SFCC Automotive Program-Battle Under The Hood Challenge!
GEARUP New Mexico helps thousands of New Mexico middle and high school students become college ready and career bound. Capital High and SFCC Automotive Tech Program paired up for the Battle Under the Hood Challenge. This involved some dealerships to bring cars prepped with a couple problems for the student teams to diagnose. Julia Furry is the director of the program at SFCC.
We brought our Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van for a team to find the problems during their 10-point inspection. Our team came in second! They found the washer nozzle missing and a bulb out. Really exciting to see almost half of the Auto students were young women. These students are the future in the automotive technical trade.
