Come camp out in SIpapu, NM for the weekend with other motorcyclists! Put on by the Land of Enchantment BMW Riders Club but this rally welcomes all motorcyclists. Click on the link to register. THE FOLLOWING WILL RUN BOTH FRIDAY AND SATURDAY:

All Day, starting at 6:00 amComplimentary hot coffee, tea, lemonade, and hot chocolate are available in the Lodge.You must use your special “Rally Mug” for all drinks.

All DaySelf-guided tour maps available in the registration area in the store breezeway. (New)GPS downloads also available at registration.

All Day—Vendors will be setup in the parking lot area.  Our Flea Market will be in the area behind registration in the Lodge. Restrooms are available in the main lodge building.  Portable toilets are available in the parking lot area.

FRIDAY, September 6th

7:00 am – 8:00 pm (or later)—The Lodge café on the upper level of the main lodge building is open for breakfast burritos and their regular breakfast menu (7:00 am until about 11:00 am), and a variety of menu items from 11:00 am until sometime after 8:00 pm. They have a selection of beers in the bottle and on tap as well as wine and more robust adult beverages (remember to consume beverages not bought on the premises away from the Lodge area). The grocery store is open from 7 am-8 pm.

8:00 am – 6:00 pm (4:00 pm, Saturday)—Registration is located in the old ski rental room on the north side of the Lodge near the gas pumps.  T-shirts and caps are on sale next to the registration area. Pick up self-guided maps if desired.

8:00 am – Noon Friday:Poker Run—Sign ups near the Registration area. $5 to enter the Poker Run (pavement run only available due to fire closures and rain). Check at registration area to sign up after Friday, noon. You may do your run anytime Friday, concluding before 6 pm Saturday to draw your cards. Winners announced at 7:30 Awards program.

9:00 am — 10:15 am“Rider cognitive fitness, nutrition and Chi Gong/Tai Chi” Carl Janicek and Laura Fontana will discuss how to keep you alert, fit and well with simple tools that anyone can learn and use for those longer rides.  Tips on what foods work for you or against your brain and body functions, along with some healthy snack options.

10:30 am – 11:45 am—“To Alaska, My Bucket List Trip” Kim Prichard reports and shares photos about her 39 day trip to Alaska and Inuvik.

11:55 am – 12:50 pm (Note adjusted time slot)—“Himalayan Moto-Tours” Eric Moffat takes riders on exciting motorcycle tours in and around the Himalayas. Find out more at this presentation.

1:00 pm — 2:15 pm—“Sky-Med” Tom Clancy will fully inform you and answer your questions about coverage for extreme riding medical emergencies using the Sky-Med service.

3:00 pm – 4:15 pm—“Recovering from a Crash” Nurse and crash victim Heidi Woerheide discusses her recent experience both from the perspective as a survivor of a motorcycle crash and as a nurse.

4:30 pm – 5:45 pm—“Fly Fishing for Riders” Riding and fishing can go together like fish and chips. Learn more at this hands-on workshop on basic, no bull fly fishing by expert fisherman Ti Piper. 

6:00 pm—Green Chili Stew Snack located at the back of Sipapu main lodge, near the Sipapu restaurant.

6:00 – 8:00 pmFor your listening and dining pleasure, enjoy the down-home tunes performed by the Watermelon Mountain Jug Band! 

8:15-9:30 pm—Presentation by special guest, Abhi Eswarappa, well-known blogger and writer about all things motorcycle, especially touring experiences, reviews of great older bikes, current trends in the motorcycle industry and more.

SATURDAY, September 7th 

 

7:00 am – 8:00 pm for food—The Lodge café on the upper level of the main lodge building is open all day featuring food and adult beverages. The grocery store is open from 7 am-8 pm. See details for Friday listings.

8:00 am – 9:15 am—“Yoga for Motorcyclists, Before” Bill Ancker leads riders through several Yoga routines that prepare one for a ride.

9:30 am – 10:45 am— “Riding the Balkan States on /5’s” Matt and Susanna Parkhouse recount their ride through Southeastern Europe on their trusty Slash Fives.

11:00 am – 12:15 pm—“Reliving the 2018 Motorcycle Cannonball” Don Cameron did it again last year, serving on the crew for one of the vintage bikes that made the cross-country run. He has anecdotes, photos, and stories to tell.

1:00 pm – 2:15 pm—Abhi Eswarappa repeats last night’s topic based on his motorcycling experiences. If you missed it last night, now’s your chance.

2:30pm – 3.45 pm—“Yoga for Motorcyclists, Follow-Up” Bill Ancker leads riders through several Yoga routines that provide relief and strengthens those tired muscles and minds after a day of riding.

4:00 pm – 5:15 pm—“Magical Maintenance” Paul and Voni Glaves take us on a trek into the dark arts of maintenance.

4:00 pm – 6:00 pm–Draw Cards for Poker Run near Registration area. Once you’ve completed your run, turn in your sheets to draw cards no later than 6 pm.

4:30 pm—Official posting of Door Prize winners on wooden posts near the front and back entrances to the lodge area for winners to claim prizes TBA. YOU MUST CLAIM YOUR PRIZE BY 7:00 PM! You snooze, you lose!

5:00 pm(time approximate)—Circulating rally staff members will sell tickets for the “50/50” cash drawing.  Winning could pay for your whole weekend! $1 each, 6 for $5, & more!

5:00pm—T-shirt and cap sales close.  Buy now or miss out!

5:30 pm—New Mexico Cuisine for dinner is back featuring…. ???? Lines will form at the north entrance stairs to the cafe.  Drinks and desserts will be available downstairs on the main patio of the lodge.

6:30ish pm – 10:30 pmRock and Roll/Variety Music for your dancing pleasure by “Andrews, Morel & Berry,” a Taos-area band!

SUNDAY, September 9th

Starting at 5:00 am—Complimentary hot coffee, tea, and hot chocolate is available in Lodge.You must use your special “Rally Mug” for all drinks.

Starting at 7:00 am—The Lodge café on the upper level of the main lodge building is open for breakfast burritos and more to give you a good start on your ride back.

Check out time! Campers please leave your campsite as clean as you found it.  Folks in the dorm, make sure you have all your gear. Everyone please ride safely!
