Work Based Learning Program

OCD Custom Cycles & Auto Repair participated in Santa Fe Public Schools’ (SFPS) Work-Based Learning (WBL). Marc and Franny interviewed 7 candidates that had pre-registered to have interviews with us. The event was at the Santa Fe Convention Center. The organizer is Jose Villarreal It was very structured using a timed interview and questions we asked that the students were prepared to answer. Many companies partipated. The energy was high – there are some fantastic young people in the Santa Fe Public Schools that are bright and have a good idea of what they want to do! Some have already accomplished certificates and most have jobs after school.

WBL Program is a structured internship program that fosters collaboration between SFPS high schools and local high-value employers. It provides junior and senior students with high-quality, career-oriented internships that offer meaningful, hands-on experiences in real-world settings. Students in the City of Santa Fe’s work-based learning program are paid by the city which uses funding from federal sources like the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). This is a partnership between the City of Santa Fe and Santa Fe Public Schools (SFPS).These internships are designed to equip students with valuable skills, professional connections, and industry-specific knowledge, ensuring they are well-prepared for future careers and post-secondary success.
