Kraut Racing Goes to High Plains Raceway

Kraut Racing went to High Plains Raceway for their July 12th Open Track Day. It is 1 hour east of Denver. The track was spectacular, a roller coaster ride with many blind corners, lots of elevation changes, and a decending radius uphill turn. It took a couple sessions to learn. They divided the sessions into a slow group and a fast group. Abigail Schmidt and Franny Sayre were in the slow group and Marc Beyer, Lance Echols, and Marc Underwood were in the fast group. Some of our team members (names not to be revealed) even went “off-roading” during the early sessions but stayed upright.

We were impressed with the riders meeting that was wonderfully organized with a PowerPoint containing pictures from the tracks of the sections they were explaining and illustrations of the signal lights. Most turns had a corner worker. They had a control tower with video footage of the whole track so the riders watched their Ps and Qs. The weather was perfect, low 80s with a slight breeze. Also, we had 5 of the 7 Kraut Racing dogs in attendance!
